is it time for a church consultation?
Some of us like looking in the mirror more than others.
But if you never actually look in a mirror, you can miss out on what is really going on—the good (like a great hair day) and the bad (think random green food in teeth).
What if you’re not seeing things the way they really are in your church?
Church Plant Spotlight: Harbour Community Church
As we embrace being BOLDLY FORWARD, NEVER ALONE as Fellowship Pacific, one of the key ways we live this out is through church planting and we are excited to share more stories from our church plants this year!
This month we want to introduce you to Harbour Community Church in Nanaimo, BC!
Standing Still Gets You No Where
Standing Still Gets You No Where
Believe this truth?
I am not talking about pausing to catch one’s breath or stopping to enjoy the view or slowing to evaluate one’s direction or recalibrating from failure or resting from energy well spent. I am talking about stopping, and not moving again.
The heart of the gospel is movement. God drawing close to us. Us responding back to Him. Us moving with Him. God does not call us to stand still.
God reveals this movement—His gospel—through church planting.
Lytton Christmas Project
We absolutely love it when we get to see how our churches are living out boldly forward never alone in their communities!
One example of this has been the partnership among a few of our churches that is bringing incredible love and support to the Lytton community that is still struggling to recover from the fire and other devastating events of the past two years.
boldly forward. never alone.
What comes to your mind when you read this statement?
Boldly Forward.
Never Alone.
Circle of Nations Day
Faith Fellowship Baptist Church has a long history of welcoming people from around the globe to their very international church family in Vancouver. Many that have been welcomed are not just new to Canada but new to the Christian faith as well. Some of these are refugees having fled from difficult circumstances in their home nations.
2022 Lifetime Ministry Award: Harvey & Beth Peters
On January 30, Fellowship Pacific and Sardis Fellowship Baptist Church had the honour of presenting a Lifetime Ministry Award to Harvey & Beth Peters. Take a minute to read the story of this remarkable couple and their faithfulness in serving God over the years.
Thank You Doug!
As 2021 comes to a close we are getting ready to say a fond farewell to Doug Fordham, whose long and illustrious career with the Fellowship Pacific Ministry Team will be winding down at the same time. Yes, it's true that Doug “sort of” retired already—a few years ago—but has continued working part time providing many valuable services from his home office ever since.
A Unity Built Through Humility
For many years, Fellowship Pacific has partnered with our Korean brothers and sisters to see Christ’s love come to our region’s communities. Together, we have pioneered to plant churches, met needs amongst First Nation peoples, and sought to grow into a more multi-ethnic, multi-cultured Fellowship. We are so grateful to the Spirit for this unified partnership.
EQ Boot Camp 2021
Emotional Intelligence impacts our leadership, relationships, and ultimately our effectiveness in sharing the gospel. This statement drives the ongoing invitation extended to our pastors, ministry workers, and Immerse students to be a part of an EQ Boot Camp, and we have been privileged to host three of these in 2021!
A Partnership Called Immerse
This is an exciting year for Immerse! Fifteen new students, representing thirteen of our churches, are currently embarking on their Immerse journey. The partnership of our churches and seminary in this initiative continues to be the main catalyst for leader development in our Fellowship. Over the past year, the Joint Immerse Management Team (JIM Team), consisting of members of Northwest Seminary & College and Fellowship Pacific Ministry Centre staff, have been collaborating to develop a new avenue for Immerse students. As of this fall, together, we have launched a 2-year Master of Arts in Biblical Leadership track within Immerse.
2021 Immerse Graduation
Seven more graduates have launched into ministry!
Saturday, October 2 marked the 7th graduation for Fellowship Pacific Immerse students. From the first year until now, Immerse students continue to emerge from the theology/leadership/practical ministry incubator of the local church as the embodiment of what Christ has commissioned us to be as leaders in His church.
