Volunteer Story – Camp Qwanoes
VOLUNTEER STORY — CAMP QWANOES
Camp Qwanoes is a place that teaches both the campers and its staff what is means to love Jesus and follow Him. I have been working at Qwanoes since the summer of 2014. Each summer, I am reminded of the amazing international community of believers that exists, and what it means to lead by example.

What is Pastoral Care?
WHAT IS PASTORAL CARE?
One of our five values at Fellowship Pacific states that we believe in the local church. We believe that healthy churches are led by healthy pastors. The two belong together. Each contributes to the well being of the other. Healthy pastoral families develop healthy churches that transform their communities for Christ.

Developing Pastors–David Horita
DEVELOPING PASTORS — DAVID HORITA
In the majority of Fellowship Pacific churches, the single largest budget allocation goes towards Staff salaries. This is as it should be since the pastors in your church are critical to achieving the mission that God has given. Obviously, there are a lot of other components involved in your missional success – not least of which is every other gifted person in the church. Yet the fact remains that pastors play an inordinately significant role.

Impact 2018 Recap – David Horita
IMPACT 2018 RECAP — DAVID HORITA
Impact 2018 was held at Sardis Fellowship, in beautiful Chilliwack, B.C. The aromatic scent of “organic” farming combined with spectacular sunny weather to create a positive growing experience for all of us. It was a time of learning, challenging, talking, and lots of eating! Many thanks to the great volunteers and team at Sardis for their hospitality and service.
Called to Influence – Krista Penner
CALLED TO INFLUENCE — KRISTA PENNER
When I visit churches and talk with leaders I consistently hear the same message.
“How can we establish a mentoring initiative that will actually work?”
There have been many attempts made to implement mentorship programs in the past few decades of church ministry. Many have failed and those who have experienced success have written books trying to help the rest of us figure this thing out! Maybe you have read some of those books and you are still trying to figure out how to transform theory into practice.
Life in Chetwynd
LIFE IN CHETWYND
Last week, April and I had the privilege of spending several days in Chetwynd, meeting with all our Pastors in the North. Bill and Karen Evans have been pastoring in Chetwynd for the past thirty plus years. As I watched from a distance, I see that Bill is the chaplain of the town of Chetwynd.
A Come-Back Story: Experiencing God at work at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church
A COME-BACK STORY: EXPERIENCING GOD AT WORK AT IMMANUEL FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH
How did this happen? What do we do now? How will we recover from this? Those might have been questions mulling around the heads of the leadership team and church family at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church in Abbotsford, BC just over two years ago. Their lead pastor had resigned. Three out of five of their other staff members left over the next five months. They were in the midst of planning a whole new vision for the church and suddenly all that work came to an abrupt halt. They lost three board members. Over a short period of time their congregation plummeted from 500 to 200. And from all that, their finances suffered greatly. The future looked uncertain, but those still there didn’t lose hope and they had the desire to move forward. They began to pray, they formed a search committee and trusted that God would provide. The leadership decided to find an interim pastor first, someone who could come and help them heal and walk with them as they worked through painful issues.
