Impact 2018 Recap – David Horita
Impact 2018 was held at Sardis Fellowship, in beautiful Chilliwack, B.C. The aromatic scent of “organic” farming combined with spectacular sunny weather to create a positive growing experience for all of us. It was a time of learning, challenging, talking, and lots of eating! Many thanks to the great volunteers and team at Sardis for their hospitality and service.
Impact was a vision focused time in which we reminded one another of our need to remain sold out to the cause of Christ and his Kingdom. We revisited our mission, vision and values throughout the business sessions, making significant decisions as we updated our Fellowship constitution. It was exciting to hear reports of our churches and agencies are operating together to make a legitimate God-honouring impact throughout our region. These partnerships are allowing churches, WINGS, Baptist Housing, New Hope, Qwanoes, Sunnybrae, and Vancouver Urban ministries to reach new levels of effectiveness and ministry. As well, throughout Impact we had a number of videos that presented opportunities for our churches to partner with one another in both Great Commandment and Great Commission ways. Check out our Impact story books that have been given to all of our churches. You will love the accounts of what God is doing.
Speaker Daniel Im, author of No Silver Bullets, challenged us to renew our commitment to becoming multiplying churches. This was a strategic topic for us as our new vision for 2022 calls for 30% more churches, intentional discipleship plans, 2500 new leaders, and people giving their lives to Christ in every church, every year.
This vision of innovatively developing relationships and resources that will propel every Fellowship church to be accountable to our gospel mandate is a dream that will take us far beyond the 2018 Impact conference. It was a beginning. And we enjoyed it. But it is just the beginning. Please join us as we continue to seek God, asking him to help us translate the dream into reality. Thank you to all of you for your partnership in the gospel.
